Thanks. It was actually a 1.8/2.0, $2225.

If you keep records this well, you need to re-subscribe to GPA and delight in their endless data. :makepoint:

Best wishes on your hunt for a Pence copy. I regret selling mine in the early 1990s--and have a sob story about it that I've told one too many times.

Before long, it won't be an easy task to land a .5 copy for less than 2K. Maybe even now.

I paid $2,050 for my .5 restored copy, missing centerfold with brittle pages:

My max bid was $2,415 as I had no intention of losing that auction.

I personally feel that even though it may be a .5, it presents exceptionally well with no marvel-chipping and centering that beats out the famous 9.6 copy.

Still, just goes to show that the days of picking up AF #15's in any condition for under 2K are well behind us. Especially if the copy is slabbed.

4.5 copies are now up to almost $8,500? :o
nicer 4.5 with ow or better and no mc have already surpassed 9K (thumbs u

That's incredible.

I remember the days you could get a VG or so copy for around 2K.

I tried to sell CGC 6.0 or a 6.5 on the boards here a few years ago for $8K and could barely.

If a .5 incomplete restored copy is a 2K+ book, no way you see a Universal copy towards the 2K end of your estimate.
