Well the only low graded unrestored Tec 27 copy that I was interested in is the one on C-Link.. But with that price, I am definitely out

 

Be optimistic, you can always move your AF15 to fund a Tec27.

That would all depend on one's tolerance level for PLODs.

Congrats on snagging such a great book! Great centering, nice colors, and WHITE pages! You will never go wrong with that book! I was the second underbidder at $101k. I would've taken it higher, but was not in a position to be as aggressive going after this book as I would have liked!

 

At current prices I would probably also take an AF 15 over a restored Tec 27. But to the "all restored books are a bad investment" crowd, I would just like to point out that in the last 2 years 8.5/9.0 AF 15s have not changed at all in value. While during the same time high grade restored Tec 27s have quietly almost doubled in price

 

 

AF15 plods have been flat for the last year I presume

 

That's good to hear. Does that mean that the restored AF 15's will get a little more respect soon?

Gulp ... that smoker is one or two dots of ink away from being a "real" nosebleed 9.0. Mega KUDOS on that book.

 

(that is if the micro-trim is disregarded - but chopped off parts seems extremely miniscule, if any at all?).

 

Edit: Love that you cracked it out of that fugly, tainted purple suit into a nice mylar.

In a mylar it will take a microscope to tell that its "only" 98% bluelabel

Actually I removed it to look at it last year, just before having it sent off for Stan to sign it. The lower picture is how I have it now. I plan to remove almost all of my collection from the cases when I get close to finishing. I like them much better in Mylars.
