Amazing Fantasy #15 Club

7,730 posts in this topic

I was wondering if anyone either has already or would be able to post the highest recorded sales for slabbed AF #15's in all various grades.

Might be interesting to see the highest figures books have gone for in all different grades.

PS: That 8.5 looked AMAZING.

Hey Peewee, what ever happened to this af15 that you posted a few years back

http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=105832&Number=1904673#Post1904673

I think the list was supposed to be the highest recorded sale for each grade so I didn't compile all sales...not like my X-men #1 list. I just tried to pick the highest prices paid for each grade. I think AF15kid was only asking what were the highest price paid per grade level but we can certainly expand the list like the Showcase 22 and X-men 1 lists.

If we are to expand this list to include all sales, I agree cutting it off at 6.0

Heck, even at 6 and above, this list will be bigger than both the Showcase and X-men list combined.

Yeah, my question was relating to the highest sale price for slabbed copies in every grade. Obviously figures change and every book (including AF #15) has it's hot times and its...not quite as hot times.

I'm as interested in the highest sale prices of lower graded issues as much as I am in the higher graded issues simply because I have a 3.5 myself (it's a PLOD though) but I figured it best to start with unrestored copies as there are so many variables with restored copies to take into consideration. That is not to say that there are not for unrestored copies, just going one step at a time.

Are you including Signature Series copies? There was a Stan Lee 6.0 SS that went for $22,000 at CLink in Nov. 2008.

I know theres plenty of signature series fans on the board, but it seems like a waste to put a signature on an af15 6.0 :blahblah:

I'd like to thank you guys for helping put together this list. Pretty impressive figures to say the least.

Regarding signature series copies, I'd personally have no issue with it unless the signature itself really damaged the front cover.

While some people could look at it in the same light as color touch (I wouldn't), if anyone wouldn't desecrate an AF #15 by touching it, it would be Stan Lee.

But I could see how some people would want to keep it true to it's newstand form. That and the fact that blue labels do look so nice.

Signature series book are great and depending on someone's preference. But for liquidity issue...I would stick to non signature series.
