So Much Fun, Inc ?

26 posts in this topic

I wrote this in 2005:

reprints? Yes (in some cases they are third prints)

low print run? appears so

twelve books--Marvel, DC & Archie

cool? I think so....

fun to hunt? sure

price? hidden ones were cheap for awhile....

story?

titles appear to have been picked at random

the five Marvel books are all from the same month

the Archie and DC books are not

all the books say "classic" on them

some covers were modified like the Batman 401 and the JLA 217

sold in toy stores no longer in business

High Grade is difficult (my opinion)

there was a thread at CPG, and one at CGC.

mentioned in OS market reports

not all books mentioned in OS....

did I miss anything?

since then we have been tracking the prices in the thread linked above. James needs to update the SMF Gallery with 2008 sales. We have also got pictures in the interactive gallery over there that have a three pack that these comics were distributed in.

Hope that helps.

I just sold a JLA #217 So Much Fun on eBay for $17.59

Was hoping it would do a little better, guess that's what I get for ending my auctions on Labor Day Weekend. Well, still not bad for my initial $1 investment.

That sounds about right. I can't see paying $100 for a reprint. "Buy it nows" are usually overpriced.

This is funny ed, I just bought a batch of books from someone on the boards and when they came in, there was a Mark Jewelers insert in the book. I had never had one that I could think of before and I wouldn't have found it had I not been actually READING the book. Funny the things you find.

But why did they do it? And who are they? What was the point?

That's the whole point, everyone is blibbing and blabbing about rarity, sales prices, titles, scans, but no one every takes the time to EXPLAIN their history, purpose, etc.

Doesn't this explain it?

Ah, got it. You don't really care about their history, purpose, etc. You just don't like the fact that everyone is blibbing and blabbing about rarity, sales prices, titles, scans.
