i think it was the VP himself, swingin stevie borock who recommended that the microchamber paper cgc uses should be changed every 7 years

 

if thats the case then would it not make sense to put the date of encapsulation on the cgc label, o/w how are we going to know when to change the paper (if poeple are actually going to do that)??

 

does it mean we have to call cgc and give them a cert # to find out whne the book was slabbed? if u live out of the usa, this can become a costly process!!

Well if they keep chaning the labels every few years it can give someone a general idea when the book was slabbed...

i believe CGG puts date of encapsulation and graders notes on their label, but does anyone reallistically see CGG being aroud for more than a coupla years?

To be fair....when you look up the cert. # via the Collectors Society...the date of encapsulation is noted...
