Not correct. Exchange sale. Full BIN.

My friend missed it by a couple hours (iirc he was traveling). Huge Wolvie fan, at the time had a handful of 9.8s which is saying a lot as the number of 9.8s back then was no where near what it is today. He set the GPA high for first signed 9.8 copy.

Probably a good thing in retrospect by the looks of that 9.9

It's impossible to analyze tiny defects on a small scan.

Scanners can hide defects, introduce defects that aren't there or change how defects look. Especially when it's just a tiny pic.

It looks like most of the other 9.8 graded copies of this book.  I firmly believe that back in the early days, CGC handed out the occasional over-the-top grade in order to generate publicity about the grading service and the prices that could be realized from submitting to them.  Another example that comes to mind is the 10.0 grade they assigned to one of Chuck Rozanski's Thor #156s back in 2002, which then sold for $5,000 (9.8 copies today go for ~$350).  When these books sold for incredible sums, it was written up and talked about all over the hobby.
