Out of interest, after a recent conversation in the general TMNT thread, has anyone seen (or own) a double cover #1? I unfortunately have not.

 

When Kevin was leaving LA, I purchased copies of #1 (2nd printing), #2 (1st), and #3 (NYCC Variant) from him. When I got the #1, I was a little disappointed because there was one stress mark on the front cover, but then I opened it up to find a 2nd NM cover. I couldn't have been more surprised (and happy).

Yup, I have a double cover 2nd print as well. Never a seen a double cover 1st print if that's what your asking.

That is awesome still! 1st print DC would surely be another cherished piece if it/they exists :D

 

wishing a owner of a 9.8 will work a deal...

Well, it was a long time in coming, but I finally got it slabbed:

My beauty, that I bought off of eBay in 1999, for $66 shipped. It was an auction, of course (they all were back then), and my high bid was $125...and I won it for $61, plus $5 shipping.

 

Pretty amazing.

 

Paid for it by check, too.

 

I still think it's a 9.2, but it does have some light foxing in the logo that the graders call "fingerprints" (not the case), so a 9.0 isn't too bad.

 

It's a beauty of a copy, I'll say.
