These copies have an interesting pedigree. I am only the second owner. The first owner was Marc Estes. His family rented Eastman and Laird the space where Mirage Studios began. It was a humble space and hence 'Mirage.' Marc held onto these copies until a few years ago when I purchased them. I had Eastman authenticate the books not long after I purchased them; however, CGC was not certifying them at the time and they remained ungraded until this month. As a collector, the certification certainly adds value. :-)

I think usually people request that the head sketches be drawn into the black spacing on the side. I agree that's not the greatest placement, smack dab over the main image.

I'm honestly shocked.  I've seen Kevin sign numerous TMNT 1's (First, Second, and Third) prints, including my Second Print.  He immediately goes for the black space.  I honestly think this has to be a FUBAR by the facilitator.  Given that the signed and sketch date is 10/6/2020 when Kevin was supposed to be at NYCC but wasn't because of Covid, I'm going to guess this was done at a private signing.  So I am guessing the facilitator window bagged the book without thinking about it and Kevin just did it.

I was also thinking this was a window bagging issue.

A couple updates to notable #1's up for sale:

A new 9.8 1st print (graded 2 days ago) just went up on ebay for one easy payment of $150,000! This copy has OW/W pages, just like the same seller's 9.6 with OW/W pages that was up for sale and since removed not long ago. Too quick for a press & relisting? I don't know. The seller is very secretive and as others had pointed out, used another photo of a 9.8 in a previous listing on ebay that "sold" for ~75K a while back.

The 9.6 on Heritage is at $42K:

When that 9.8 was originally listed it was at 125K...now it's at 150. Better hurry up if you're interested, at this rate itll be 175 by tomorrow!
