I bet the next suggestion will be to get it pressed, huh?

Absolutely! If you're not an anti-pressing premadonna that's a very good candidate. There's a board member 'joeypost' who does pressing and submitting, and he's tops. A+ quality work, great prices and fast turnaround. I've never heard a single bad expperience with him.

Finally sent in my TMNT #1 3rd print, TMNT #4 1st print, and TMNT #5 1st print to get signed by Kevin Eastman at Boston Con. Hopefully he will do a turtle head sketch on each. Can't wait to update. Also getting my TMNT #2 1st print back from Joey along with Raphael #1. :)

Hi, I'm fairly new to the boards and have recently been offered a TMNT color error edition signed buy Eastman graded 9.8. I actually bidded on the copy on eBay didn't win and now over a month later the seller has sent me through an offer $210. Do you think the book is worth the offer? And do you also think it will hold its value, speculatively of course. I'v got until tomorrow until offer expires. Any advice would be much appriaciated thanks

You should subscribe to GPA which tracks actual sell prices for CGC graded comics. Here's all the data they have for that one.

I think $210 is a fair price, and I think it will pretty much remain flat for the foreseeable future. But that's just my opinion.

I was watching that one that just ended at $212... I've been thinking they'll eventually come back closer to 150. If I see one at 175, I'll likely pull the trigger. If you've got a straight up offer for $210 tho, that seems pretty good. Especially if it includes shipping.

I've seen a few posts regarding the first colour printing of TMNT 1 and later that point to various issues over the l;ast 10 years. I'm afraid I cannot be more specific than that without searching through loads of posts to find them. I have a couple of Trade Paper Backs from 1986 done by First Publishing that collect 1-4, 5-8, then 9-12 in full colour. This is the 1st one:

would this not be the first time they were printed in colour or would it have to be published by Mirage Studios to count?

There was a poster of the image above which I still have rolled up in mint condition. Love this cover...

Does anyone have more information about these? I know #1 went into second printing and that they stopped with the 3rd TPB.

Also have a hard cover that is impossible to get information on:

TMNTHC1.jpg

There were 1000 printed and collect all micro series and regular series up to #12. Each is signed and sketched and numbered. I have never seen one for sale, not heard about any one else asking about them. I got mine in the mail by direct order (I think it was '86) but it has gone under the radar since then. I had CPG create a listing for it recently as they didn't have any record of it either... Any one seen one for sale or know how much it would go for?

I guess I'll go against the crowd on this one. The error on the book is very minor and unlike other popular errors in TMNT's history, it doesn't affect the artwork at all. Mirage was selling these books for $1 each directly from their website once the new ones were released and they were in great condition. The one that sold for $346 was the first SS copy to hit the market and I think it was the term "error" that caused the frenzy. Look at the census. It currently has 20 copies in 9.8 SS, making it one of the most common SS TMNT books out there. It only got SS'd a few months ago and prices have steadily declined. My personal estimate is that these can be had for around $100 or less within 6 months.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the responses re the TMNT color error issue. The offer unfortunately didn't include postage so it seems in terms of overall price it's prob a bit high. The 2nd offer from the bay actually came off the back of the copy that sold for $212. The seller has 2 copies and was offering to let the 2nd copy go. Think they are also going to list it anyway so if your after a copy could be worth wtching for.

Here's 1/1000 :-)

http://comics.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=7059&lotIdNo=152004

I have a copy I got off ebay some time ago (753/1000). There are usually one or two on ebay but are normally asking for like $1000+ for them...Like this one that is up there right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-TMNT-Collected-Book-Volume-1-Ninja-Turtles-1988-HC-/270524909027?pt=US_Comics_Graphic_Novels&hash=item3efc8a85e3#ht_1281wt_1163

I think I paid 300+ for mine.

That's some great info, thanks for this! I'll have to look up which number mine is as I have not opened it in over 20 years.

I can remember that it took months for this book to arrive and I would get home from school each day anxious to see it on the doorstep. There was a delay in printing and then shipping. When it did arrive by courier the delivery man said he had delivered lots of them in the West Island of Montreal alone. I remember thinking it was not quite as unique as I had hoped and that everyone must have one... I have never known of anyone else owning one until now...

It was only by chance that I saw the ad to send in for one and the price tag of $120 was a lot back then for a kid in grade 8... I may have even had to cut out the order form from one of the regular series issues...too long ago to recall...

I would say $300+ for the book on Ebay was a very good price!

These are fun. Adaptations of the first two films. Signature Series -- Kevin Eastman, Ernie Reyes Jr. (Donatello Suit Actor - Movie I, Keno - Movie II), and Kenn Scott ("Talkative Foot" and Stunts - Movie I, Raph Suit Actor - Movie II). These are the first SS books Ernie and Ken have done.

The movie issue is the bomb! :applause:
