Going for a bakers dozen run of TMNT books, picked up a lower grade copy of #3 (1st print) during FCBD sales. LCS has a good program where you get $10 cash back when you spend $100, so I used that and got the book for about $10 after discounts (very happy)! Still need #1, #2, #4, #12, but I'm getting there!

Last week I was lucky enough to win this, imho, a pretty sweet copy of Amazing Heroes #45 April 15th 1984. There is this ad for TMNT #1 -

The eBay seller was extremely nice and did a helluva pack job on it?

Asking prices are just that but you've got to hand it to the guy, he's ambitious!

Nice!  I saw that book get listed originally for something like $5k.  It's a hard book to find (especially in the shape this appears to be in).  Glad you got a much better deal on it.  Congrats!

Thanks guys?

This book has been in “my mental notes” (I totally hear you lol ) for quite some time. Upon learning about this book and the chronological timeline of dates & advertising and such, leading up to the unleashing of TMNT #1.

No fricken clue this book or any copy had a backstory of that much cheddar! Really? I will be sending it in at some point, I’d like to know how grateful I should be to have won this actual book and to the seller for packing it flawlessly. This is a book I might crack out, so the Ad can actually be seen. I’m just geeked to just own a copy of this early...prelude or precursor, to TMNT Goodness?

Very interesting that the wording of the ad states that TMNT #1 is already selling for $1.50 (or $2.00 postpaid)... possibly indicating that TMNT #1 pre-dates this, pre-dates Gobbledygook, etc.  TMNT #1 could have been in someone's hands before any of these ads.

It's definitely European since it's HERO Turtles instead of NINJA Turtles.  The language looks Swedish.

Is it a comic or a product catalog?
