Thanks! This being a cover swipe reverse of the June ‘39 Spider pulp cover I wonder if Alex might’ve been poking a bit of fun with the “swiping motion” of the Blue Blaze’s automatic over the head of a green thug.  I know it’s a stretch as the term cover swipe would’ve had to be in common use among illustrators of the era just to make the joke.  Of course this is an unknown, but worth a chuckle today.

Hey timely people! I got a call from a local dealer who just got a golden age collection in and let me have first dibs.. even though it was New Year’s Eve I swung down there , not much timely but I was able to grab this beat Mystic 2 - pretty hard book??? (I wish there was more cover lol)
