The origin story of the Human Torch.

In 1939, Professor Horton creates an artificial being that, due to a manufacturing defect, ignites when exposed to oxygen.

The most significant comic in Brazilian History and among the rarest of all International Editions Globally with only a handful of these artifacts know to exist.

The single most wanted comic among the most experience Golden Age collectors in Brazilian history.

*O Globo began publishing Monthly editions called (Mensal) thus the Title Gibi Mensal (Comic Monthly) This edition is part of the first 12 monthly editions of which the first three were Smash Comics.

The other nine editions were the dawn of Timely Comics Internationally all complete original story's and original art.

The Brazilian publications are the earliest Timely Comic International editions I have found in 44yrs in collecting vintage comics and our family has lived in Latin America most of the last 30yrs.

Key first appearances in year one are Human Torch, Sub-Mariner, Ka-Zar among Timely characters. Marvel Mystery Comic stories were predominantly published from 1940-1943 by O Globo in Brazil. Then in 1943 a second publisher began publishing Captain america, Blonde Phantom, The Patriot among other Timely characters.

O Globo by far is the most comprehensive with 100's of complete editions of Timely Comics. The titles of Gibi Mensal and O Globo Juvenil Mensal were they continued to publish these historic editions until the 1950's.

O Guri #73 is the first appearance of Capitain America

Subby 33 you don’t see very often in the wild . One of only two covers Bill Everett did (32) was the other . is this a tougher book to find in mid to high grades compared to the other Atlas issues?

33 isn’t that tough to find in low or mid-grade  but in higher grade the 6.5 is best I’ve seen in the last 3 or 4 years.

G.A.tor sold this back to me! Really thought this would have ended up in someone's permanent collection so I am really happy to have this back home.

This is the 4th appearance overall of Captain American in Brazil, and only the 2nd cover appearance in this historically important Timely Comic Title!

This issue is as rare as O Guri Mensal No.73 which is the 1st appearance of Captain America in Brazil.

Also, did anyone notice that the title actually changes from "Sub-Mariner Comics" to "Sub-Mariner" starting with issue #33 Atlas issue?
