A surprising amount of Sub-Mariner books are available at any given time. Heck if you have the money there are 3 different copies of Submariner Comics 1 on eBay right now. Finding a book in the right grade at the right price is a much more challenging task and rewarding process, at least for me. I agree. Its the hunt for the right book at the right price at the right time that is fun for me. There are a few books in my collection where price/value was not a consideration but not many. That issue is not difficult to find as it is always trading due to value but books like 23,24,30 I’m after either are very high grade expensive cooies I can’t afford or non existent (30 especially ). Price def is big factor in buying these

Price def is big factor in buying these Yup, fair point, #1 is probably not the best example since it's definitely not a rare book. I do try to keep tabs on any sales for the series on eBay or the other auction houses, and I think almost every issue comes up for sale at least once or twice a year, but often as you said they are not in a reasonable price/grade range. Popular Post rjpb
A recent pick up. As I recall, this and #19 were once considered "scarce", but they seem to be readily available. Mr. Lady Luck, Badger, Primetime and 3 others

Nice Richard. The 19 and 21 were highly sought after and scarce in the 1990s. I have seen more surface the past ten years for sure. Great book.

Popular Post hannibal151
I agree with an earlier post regarding SMC 23 & 24. Those two are tough to get, especially 23. Looking to upgrade my 24. Edited June 28, 2020 by hannibal151 Badger, Subby1938, Marty Mann and 2 others

Of all of the girl sidekicks introduced, NAMORA was featured MUCH more than any other! While SUNGIRL DID have her own 3 issue run, she didn't make very many cover appearances in the Human Torch or Marvel Mystery runs. Golden Girl never even got her own title and made only a handful of Captain America cover appearances. NAMORA was the only one who carried over into the Atlas superhero revival comics. Cap got Bucky back, while the Torch got Toro back. SUPER nice copy you've got here!!!

Popular Post Frisco Larson
This is a cover recreation that I commissioned Ken Bald to do a number of years ago. I STILL need to get it framed. It still has a paper overlay on top of the penciled art to protect it in this picture. It looks SO MUCH better without it!!!!! I'll put that on my list of pics to take in the future. Badger, Mr. Lady Luck, comicnoir and 2 others
