That might be one of my top three favorites that I don't own. Thanks for posting!

Check out that lone, well read copy of Plastic Man #18 at the bottom right. Two spaces over is probably where the Police comics went.... but he sold out :acclaim:

BTW comicdey .... Heres the only Supersnipe I've ever owned or read. I kinda like it. The story seems so, innocent, down to earth, wholesome and imaginative ......or something :cloud9:

Thanks to Comicsdey for inviting me to this group. I couldn't read the rules I agreed to (I was shunted to a coin collecting discussion) so I'm not sure if this is frowned upon, but I have around a dozen Supersnipes for sale on eBay--my seller name is garyphx.

Issues are from early V. 2 to early V.3, plus "Supersnipe #0"--Army and Navy #5, and S&S's "How to Draw for the Comics," with artist bios and panel repros and blowups from SS, Shadow, and other Street and Smith comics.

I have yet to list the rest of the run, from Vol. 3 #3 to the end, V. 5 #1. I am trying to raise money for Christmas gifts, and would be open to offers on individual issues or all.

Again, if this is against the rules, I apologize.

tychnically it is "against the rules" but we are a little more lenient here in the GA sections of the boards... but, since you have posted 2 more times, I will happily direct you to the section of the boards where it is "more" appropriate to post that you have stuff on ebay...

clink here to post, will get more attention (thumbs u

And now a 2013 bump of my favorite thread and title thanks to a new Golden age photo with an image of Army Navy 5 with an early Supersnipe appearance before he gained his own title starting as Supersnipe V1 #6.

Going to go grab those images now and will edit this post.

Cheers to the boy with the most comic books in America.

2013 saw a year where a moderately high grade copy of Supersnipe V1 #8 in cgc 9.0 sold for over $5211 in a Sparkle City eBay auction. Still a bargain in my opinion. Other issues with great fun reading sell for a pittance so if you've never read a copy. Go out and buy a low grade copy and start the adventure of reading the boy with the most comics in America. :sumo:

Which one is the army navy 5. Early supersnipe. Or are you going to make me strain my eyes on my iPhone?

Which 5's were you not able to ID? Location?

Ill need to resurrect my old supersnipe thread and add this image.

I've marked the hard to identify books in red.

The blue ones are some of the more interesting or desirable books.

6. Action 50

7. Army & navy 5

8. Marvel mystery 33

9. Superman 17, hitler & Hirohito cover

10. Bill Barnes 7, japan atomic bombing story

Hacked and stolen post to add yet another supersnipe issue from a newsstand photo. Very cool internment camp photo and history. I think the supersnipe stands tall compared to any of those other comics although I'd like the Fight in my collection too.

I'd just like to know what a 10-12 year old kid at that time thought seeing that on the newsstand. hm

It really stands out now, but back then there were so many great covers it might not have had such a instant visual impact.

I can't imagine that sitting on a coffee table in 1944.

Here is a pic of suspense 3 on the newsstand (bottom row, 2nd from left).

Manzanar-General-Store4-44_zps2bfa0e52.jpg

This is the general store in Manzanar California in April 1944. This photo was taken by Toyo Miyatake,

a famous professional photographer from Los Angeles, who was interned at the Manzanar internment camp.

Internees were prohibited from having cameras in the camps but Miyatake smuggled in a lens and shutter and had a box camera built in camp.

He wanted to document what the camps were really like.

He took many photos in secret but eventually was discovered and was allowed to take pictures by a sympathetic camp director with the stipulation that he would be followed by a Caucasian escort who would snap the shutter. The escorts got tired of following him around and he was free to take any pictures within the camp.

The side wall of the store has the following comics:

Wonder 1, Supersnipe 15, Fight 32, World's Finest 13, Marvel Mystery 55, Green Hornet 18, Suspense 3, Leading 10, Popular 99 & Looney Tunes 31.

Imagine yourself at the newsstand. What book would you pick? The Marvel Mystery, Wonder and Suspense would stand out with the red colors. But the Suspense has no leading characters whereas the other books do.
