Answer the call and you'll get the opportunity as more puzzles are created and ready to go.

Standby to standby, oh ye of competitive comic-book competence... Name That Frame will continue.

Meanwhile, here's some Pictured Life from Yesterday for your artistic appreciation:

Fear 9 ?

You got that right, Ken!

I'll chalk you up for another win shortly. (thumbs u

Trivia Time

The cover concept for Fear #9 was based on the backup story for the issue which was titled

"Dead Man's Escape!". It was originally published in Adventures into Terror #11 (August 1952).

Kane produced the new Picture Frame cover based on Maneely's illustration for the story's

conclusion. And it was the very last panel on the last page of "Dead Man's Escape!".

I wasn't sure about that one, but I'd spent quite enough time on the puzzle and Fear 9 looked closest.

Thanks for the info and the page from the 50s comic. I collect the Atlas Era Marvel Masterworks and Joe Maneely is one of the best artists in these books.

Hey, Name That Frame Players! It's intermission time.

And we'll continue the contest right after these words from our sponsor.

(The below PF advertisement was originally presented in Fear #9. Enjoy!)

1. Captain Marvel 23

That's it!

Nice work. :applause:

Trivia Time

Marvel Comics took advantage of a lapsed DC trademark for the Captain Marvel name and

debuted its own Captain Marvel character, created by Stan Lee and Gene Colan, in 1967

(Marvel Super-Heroes #12).

The self-titled Captain Marvel series started with issue #1 in May 1968 but failed to gain

traction with the readers. The character was revamped by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane in

October 1969 with issue #17.

The title was intermittently published between December 1969 and September 1971, having

been canceled and restarted several times during the timeframe.

As a result issue #22 and #23, with publications dates of September & November 1971, are

the only Picture Frame covers produced for the Captain Marvel series.
