On the X-Men Unlimited book... From my understanding, these were advanced copies (literally photocopied on regular paper) that were sent to retailers so they could sample the book and decide how many they'd be ordering.  Interestingly enough, I think the "preview" is actually the full book, just not colored.

They're somewhat tough to find, though not worth that much ($5-$20).  I'm assuming these would be a "one-per-store" sort of thing, with most copies likely getting trashed.

This is the first I've seen of the X-Men Unlimited preview.  There are a number of other issues that were released like this, though.  I'm always on the lookout for Wolverine-titled ones.  I own both the previews for Wolverine: Killing and Wolverine/Nick Fury: Scorpio Rising.

Yes DC made a few of these for their DCU RRP titles as well in 96-97. Those are great "books" to have around for signing/sketch when the artists/writers are around

I'm purchasing an OO collection (albeit piece by piece) from a fellow I met online and these were some of the highlights from the second batch of books I purchased from him over the weekend. Most of the other good stuff was purchased during the first go around and is currently on its way to CGC (I forgot to take pics :pullhair:)

I tend to hit a collection like this once every year or two on average (strangely it always seems to be in the spring time) so this has been a good week for me so far. I will be keeping a handful of these issues and the others will go to finance purchasing more of the collection. There is supposedly 4-5k more books ranging from late silver through the early 2000's that I still have not had the chance to dig through yet...

A "collector's" collection, awesome! Excellent pick-ups!

And TWO Night Nurses, very nice!    "...Double your pleasure, double your fun..."

Not sure if this really counts considering the thread title, but I really wanted to share this with you guys! I found these on Ebay in a series of horribly labeled lots from one seller. Paid $190 total for everything. Average grade is VG, some worse, some better. I'm stoked on the Showcase 27!

Looks like this might be the remnants of an OO collection.  Tons of date stamps on these that look similar.  Great win!

Yeah I think so as well. Most of his listings are old corvette car parts and random stuff. Looks like he is just cleaning out his garage. However, he also sold a few other comics lots that made me cry. One had Justice League #1 and FF5 for $75, another with Aquaman 1 for $90... and a copy of JiM 83 for $550. Someone out there got mega lucky.

Happens like that sometimes!  It seems crazy to me that it still happens with the wealth of information readily available, but as long as buyer and seller are happy, I suppose all is right in the world.

Man, what a wonderful load! I just love seeing a stack of old un-bagged books like that. So much fun to go through. Reminds me of a large stack of lower grade ECs I got may years ago at a garage sale for $100. I wish I'd taken pictures. Congrats!
