So I decided to stop by a Goodwill while out and about and came across a small collection if comics. They were all priced $1-$2 so yes I bought them all. I'm thinking it was someone cleaning out their attic or their kids stuff without knowing. IMG_20181019_154139683_BURST000_COVER_TOP.thumb.jpg.3a791360a01857267c86937182e8935a.jpgIMG_20181019_154212080_BURST001.thumb.jpg.bc4cc9c3247302278a63094c7308c14a.jpgIMG_20181019_154158649_BURST000_COVER_TOP.thumb.jpg.3f227f141f6b9af3cbd2b513836432f1.jpg

Wow, I didn't realize the Goodwill had much in the way of comics, let alone an opportunity like this. Great score ! Apparently some people still think comic books have no real value.

Score!

I was super excited when I saw them all, the lady at the register looked at me weird and asked if I wanted the duplicates as well lol. They of course have just a bit of wear on some, but others look NM. Was really happy to see a first appearance of rogue, apocalypse and a set of the Carnage series.

But those people are still outnumbered exponentially by people who think their bird cage liner comics represent early retirement for them.

I have seen comics in good will but they often have a price sticker slapped on the cover. On place had a VGish avengers 57 for $5, but I passed because it was 20 years ago and that's probably what it was worth.

Nice - The Transmet is the Helix printing - result!

Nothing better than going through a new collection - until you have to get rid of them!

Great books!

I had it in my head that there was a vertigo issue as well that had a bigger run.

Probably thinking of something else (shrug)

Still a great book - well worth a read for those who haven't had the pleasure

Bowel Disrupter to maximum!

edit - getting mixed up with this:

Two garages sales promised comics but the misty rain meant the garage sales didn't set-up. So I went to one that had Playboys and while they didn't have issues from the 1950 I got some late 60s and early 70s. I probably could have gotten them for $10 but I offered $20 for the lot and a cool book about symbols in art for my daughter. Here are 1972 and 1973.

Spoiler

That's uncanny - I got the EXACT same books plus 1963, 1964 and 1974 last week along with 2 yrs worth of Chevalier and Millionaire!

I paid $100 AUD for 125 books, so about the same.

What a co-incidence :headbang:

There was a neighborhood yard sale by me I assumed did not set up due to rain, but then again, by 10 it had stopped rAining. Supposed to be 2 days, so I will check it out tomorrow I guess.

Went to an auction today.....nothing spectacular but came away with these at a 50 cent each average....

Interesting that the Cap 6 & 14 are still in the orginal mailing plastic from the guy's subscription....never took them out to read....far cry from the old days when they mailed them folded in half!

Stopped by a LCS sidewalk sale - $1 comics in unsorted long boxes. Challenge accepted. The William Shatner is the limited edition version signed by the artist. X-Men 307 is the Gold Variant from the board game (it was in the middle of a dozen regular versions of 307). I've never seen the Marvel Spotlight before, but I love promo books. The magazines were not $1, but well priced.
