It is his first published work.  Just that pinup page.  Doesn't really sell for a lot though.  I loved that Eagle series when it first came out.

Thanks for the Heads Up! When I saw the book posted on the boards, I knew that I had found Todd Mcfarlane's 1st published in Coyote #?? I forget what issue # at the used bookstore, but I figured they may have this "Eagle #6"as well! Kind of looked like a book they would still have as well! Sure enough, and at 25% off today, lol might as well. They price their comics kind of funky! Like the Eagle by itself would've only cost $1 with cover price being $1.75, the SM-H at $5 with cover price being 12 cents.

I mean I get the older they book the higher they're going to charge, but still strikes me as funky!

Yup! Good find for a fiver! Id say if its in NM it still can generate a $100 if signed. Definitely not a common book

After getting months of spam from Half Price Books, I used the in store coupon for the Titans Omnibus. The Son of Origins and Bloodshot were cheap too.

I guess I could spend Saturday mornings driving around and inspecting collections. OTOH I have about 30,000 comics already and would like to sell about 27,000 of them.

I saw something that looked good on FB marketplace, but would involve a drive to NJ, and I KNOW the reasonable # being quoted for the pile of decent comics would change by the time I got there. Even with the distance shots the pile definitely looks worth the amount demanded (plus the drive). But if they suddenly want $500, I am out gas and tolls and 6 hours of my life.

I love this thread but I definitely agree with you guys.  I have to basically fall into a find while I am doing something else to find something these days.  I am up right now because I went t get a glass of water but I am going back to bed soon.  With the demands of work during the week, the last thing I have time for is floating around Long Island on the weekend hoping to find things.  I actually cancelled a Craigslist deal where I am selling some GI Joe figures because the buyer wants to meet up in the evening during the week rather than on a Saturday afternoon. Just can't do it with other demands in life.

Either way... carry on y'all... I actually love this thread.  I am going back to sleep.

A couple of months ago I sold a Sonor drum kit that I had in our studio. I knew that originally we spent over 2 grands on it. But I also knew I had to clear it out of the space it was currently in. I listed it on marketplace and had a few calls. A few people showed interest. But the first guy that came in offered me a price that I was fine with - 450$

i knew he was getting a steal, just the accessories it came with alone were worth more than that. That dude was so happy he actually told me “You have a good heart selling it to me for so cheap” (not true hehe).
The reason why I’m telling you this story is because we all come across amazing deals and each seller has a task which was assigned to him/her when selling their books.
a few years ago when I had more time (and less money) in my hands I would’ve broke that drum kit apart and list it part for part on eBay/craigslist/fb and have fun with it. Not today

somewhere, in a drum community board, that same buyer is probably sparking controversy by telling boardies this story and they’re probably sayin the same thing many people say here “wait, you mean a music studio owner sold you that drum kit for how much??! How is that even possible??”

Yup.  I gave away a group of aquariums on Craigslist for free on the condition that they take everything.  Someone taking the time to list them individually would have had an easy $300 or so, but they would have had to do some work, deal with a bunch of people, etc.  I needed the stuff out of my house quickly, so I listed it for free and got it dealt with quickly.

In retrospect, I should have listed it for like $50 so that I got a fish guy to take it instead of a random crazy that wanted to talk to me about the Illuminati, but it worked out okay. 🙂

Most of us have other jobs. Most of us are middle aged. Many of us have family and big time demands there. We only have so much energy and so much patience for hassle. With that said I enjoy burying myself in cheap boxes. Wandering around Craigslist or FB and trying to find a collection with easy profit in it and some maybe lunatic on the other end, not as much. But kudos to all the hunter gatherers!
