Do you regularly press books that already look perfect to you? Is that what folks do nowadays?

Since CGC uses the hubble telescope to find some reason not give you a 9.8,  the answer is yes.

I belong to a couple of FB comics groups where the collectors are far less sophisticated than they are here, and the mentality there is press press press, typically accompanied by a lack of any knowledge about pressable defects, just the idea that throwing a few dollars at it will definitely improve it. I'm not lumping Awe in with these guys, he seems to know his stuff, but many don't.

well, in the words of Garo Yepremian "I am a stupid!" (or was that Roberto DiVicenzo at The Masters?) I got 13 DC Archives (WW 1-5, Dark Knight 1-6 and Justice League 1, 2) and they got wet from the snow. They were in a tub with the lid closed but somehow they got wet. I still scored but am so angry right now! Hopefully I can read them still when they dry out.

well, I got a first print Batman 457 with the 000 code, so...still sucks!

If my daughter's school has delayed opening tomorrow due to snow it would be at the same time as the estate sale. My wife said that she will use vacation time and go in late to work so that I can go hunting. Is that a woman who loves her man, or what!?! It is supposed to rain and wash it all away so maybe wifey is kissing up, but that is fine by me.

Since we know  @Bird will have an awesome score and while waiting until he gets around to sharing, I'll fill the time with something unusual that I purchased with a small collection a few months ago and only recently got around to processing and noticed the uniqueness of the book.

Sunset Carson, published in 1991 and signed by his wife, Jeane 'Mrs. Sunset' Carson in 1993. She wrote extensively in the book and the photos are only a smattering of what she wrote. The guy I purchased it from didn't make any comments about the book, so I overlooked it when I was going through the books initially.

While I am not into this book, what I love about it is that it was personally annotated by his wife beyond what the magazine was able to accomplish.  I bet this would be utterly fascinating to someone who collects western stuff.

I bet there are a number of us who wish someone would have annotated those huge pictures of the old DC comics dinner photos.

I spent $107 at an estate auction today. Snowstorm precludes me from emptying the car but I'll show my stuff soon enough. I took this in right away to avoid any bending though.

The Detroit Rock City poster on the side is groovy, love that movie.

He came back in 1985 and did a movie called "Alien Outlaw" that also features some old time western guys like Lash La Rue:

I had never heard of him, but he did a ton of these B list movies from 1944 - 1950. I guess they were the second movie (usually about an hour) in a double feature. People got a lot of value for their dime or nickel at the movies back then. I guess most of these are so bad they don't play them on TV much. I see westerns, but usually with bigger names. It's interesting how a lot of these guys' careers faded out around 1950-52 even though they were certainly cranking out westerns after that, but I suppose not in the same volume. This guy's career was basically over at 30.

well, estate sale was a bust. It was not an estate sales' comics, it was the estate sale lady's husband selling his comics at the estate sale. But I went out in 7 am snow for the number and went back at 845 so I spent $10. Really only wanted the Corben Spectres but added the other two for my bundle deal!

I have an antique store along my commute that I have had some decent luck with over the years. The last couple months have been off the charts. In late summer I got a Crime Mysteries 4 and an Astonishing 30 (!!!). I picked up a sweet Fox romance book in September. All three of these cost me $100+, but my returns on that were off the charts. Then today I grabbed this lot for $200.
