That disappointment is needed to round out my weekends!

It would be nice if it ever stopped raining. I occasionally snag stuff at a local outdoor flea market, but nobody brings paper stuff out in this weather.

My friend's parents have an antique shop, and she does their social media advertising. So when she advertised this on Facebook, I told her to mark it sold. Just picked it up...

Very cool and early. Yellow Kid collects that stuff. He's got an incredible collection of it.

Case in point.....stopped at a Half-Price Bookstore but didn't really find anything.  On the way out a guy called out my name and it was someone I have bought comics from in the past....long story short he was wanting to move around 7 short boxes.  I bought them of course...about half was bulk but did have a few nice ones.....this was the best.

Missing the back cover but otherwise complete......never know what you will run into if you are out looking....

Whatta score!  Many years ago I was at a flea market and I walked up to a lady's booth where some guy had 4 old comics in his hand and was looking through them. 3 Dell humor and this one. I heard him ask how much? She replied $3. each. He pulled this one out and offered her $2. for it. She said no thanks, he put them down and walked away. I pounced, pulled out $3. and was on my merry way. Now, what was kind of funny was, I didn't really know the significance of this issue until I got home and looked it up. Still have it!

I miss my lead D & D figures :(  Me and the next door friend had a combined collection that he held on to since we were always at his house playing D & D.  I think we got up to a full cigar box full of figures that we had painted and set them up all the time.  Those were the days - bunch of figures and a D & D module was a fun weekend.

@Robot ManSeveral DC Romance comics were in the lot and these (I have not taken the time to scan).

That Crime Patrol #16 is my favorite. (2nd EC Horror story). Looks like a weird mix of books. What kind of auction was this? Looks like the auctioneer had a bunch of stray books and just put them together in one lot. Great score!

@Robot ManSmall local antique/junk auction house. It usually consists of consignments and estate items.  No telling what will show up. Typically a bunch of furniture, glass, housewares, and "collectors" items. Occasionally comics make it in the mix.  I strike out more times than not.
