I take it that's the pre scan, and if you have the back cover too and when you get the book back from cgc, itd worth a ring a dingy to find out what can be accomplished  :wishluck:

shouldn't cgc be able to add as part of its charge some sort of no grade drop guarantee? a cgc rep cracks the case and makes sure the talent plays nice? when you get a cracked case replaced do they regrade the book?

That would be awesome

How does that benefit CGC? They are getting thousands of subs without it. What incentive would they have to do it? Sure it would be great for the customer, but the way these signings are going, they would spend more time dealing with grade drop claims than anything else.

That is an interesting thought. For really expensive 9.8s it would be worth a serious upcharge to protect the grade. I am officially intrigued.

Damn...from a 9.8 to a 9.0?😬.  Sorry to hear that.

I too submitted a “Vengeance of Bane” for the Nolan signing.  It was a 9.8 universal.  Old case, though.  It’s currently “scheduled for grading”.  :wishluck:

Well, mine just got graded.  9.2.😒

I think a grade drop is an expected risk.  But all the way down to 9.2?  My in-house submission record is as follows:

1). 9.8 dropped to 9.2

2). 9.8 dropped to 9.6

3). 9.8 retained 9.8

4). 9.8 retained 9.8

5). 9.6 dropped to 9.4

6). 9.8 retained 9.8

I have 2 more 9.8 books in the “scheduled for grading” status.  I’ll report on those once the grades are posted.

I am at 3 drops and 3 books which retained 9.8’s.  Two of the drops are reasonable... but the 9.8 to 9.2 hurts.  Oddly enough, the 3 drops were Copper keys, while the 3 which retained grades were unpopular books...

I have had issues with certain signers. Im wondering if thats the issue. Certainly older books are more fragile as well so maybe thats makes then more likely to drop.

Yeah im done with CGC i expect a possible damn grade drop when getting an SS, but when I just submitted a CGC graded 9.8 1st Bane appearance to get signed by Nolan and after 3 months it comes back today at a @-$%!! 9.0!! Nope, nope, nope get some damn quality control! Did he use it as a napkin?!

I honestly thought for a moment that Chris Nolan was signing books because that's who I think of first when we mention Bane and Nolan.

Question to everyone who had their grades drop, did you opt for the post signing press?
