@dover Those are great choices to start with!  Like @oakman29, I started off with the goal of just collecting certain issues and pretty quick got pulled in by all the rest because the quality of interior art is very high.

And there's a fair amount of Neal Adams work in the early issues... :foryou:

#103.... When you first find Jones art, then Williamson and THEN Wrightson in the same issue, it’s hard not to get hooked.

Just about the coolest comics out there. I look at it as I grew up past the spandex superhero characters.

I do not have many (yet), random Heavy Metal, Eerie, Creepy and a few Vampirella. I have been actively looking for the Epic magazines currently, but in the back of my mind I know these mags are full of verse and image and I must gather them all. Just not easy to find so far.

That title brings back so many memories. I picked up Heavy Metal #1 from Pacific Comics when they were still a chain of comic stores and they carried the original Metal Hurlant mags  along side them. I clearly remember one of the Schanes brothers telling me how this form was the future of comics. Omni magazine premiered a year later and that filled my comics and science interests for years...

That one cost 4 times what the previous 7.5 went for, but It still wasn't even 500 .... it's such an iconic trailblazer ... definitely led to Heavy Metal, which was a mainstay at every 7-11 in the late 70's to early 80's. GOD BLESS...
