Yes - I was hoping someone could shed some light on it.  I am not a Warren nor much of magazine collector.  There were several in an auction and I won this one.  It isn't taped but sealed like you see DC packs.  I thought it was interesting with the label of adult content of the price.  I assume by the retailer?

I've personally never seen this type of thing done to a Warren magazine before. Still, a very interesting find...

I can’t tell you if that’s from Warren or not but growing up one of my local bookstores used to seal magazines that they considered “spicy” just like the Marvel and DC packs with some price and logo on it. Couldn’t understand it until later I figured it was a way to keep kids from getting into magazines they shouldn’t be looking at. They also bagged up comics at times for discounted prices after a few months. I guess they didn’t return stuff because I found comics there sometimes nearly a year after release. If that’s from Warren though that would be killer.,,

This is what I was thinking - that it was done post distribution.  I remember as a kid in the mid 70s buying a Marvel treasury at a convenience store.  It was on the stand right next to a Playboy with a little wooden strip over it which didn't cover all the naughty bits.  Obviously, your store was more conscientious and kid friendly. Funny that has stuck with me all these years

Thanks, Nerve.

Tape too. I remember bits of tape at times on top of bags for things they didn’t think kids should see on covers.

My 11 year old mind was blown going into one newsstand in Oceanside that catered to Camp Pendleton marines and seeing all those trashy porn mags in their full glory for the world to see. That and the local head shop for underground  comics in the 70’s was eye opening....

This one is sealed like the DC paks - no tape and the bag with the printing on it made it even more intriguing but doesn't really mean much.

It may be low grade

I'm really hoping for mid grade on the savage tales! :wishluck::tink:

LCS was able to open back up today, at an 8 people occupancy at any time including employees....

But they encouraged people to stop by, by having a 25% off sale :)

not sure if the TMNT is a magazine per se lol

but
