DC COMICS -- JUGGLING! Not everybody has the dexterity to juggle, nor can everyone properly take a blow to the head when a juggling pin lands on one's cranium. But Superman has it down!

Why is Superman so great at juggling, you ask? Well, he started as a boy, and practiced on the moon. He also practices with criminals (occasionally breaking one on his head). Superman can even juggle using his legs, and Batman & Robin use those practice sessions as an opportunity to hone their skills in gymnastics.

DC COMICS -- CAN'T BUY JUST ONE! Superman comics present a dilemma for collectors, as if you own any of the below comics, you are naturally compelled to try to acquire the other one to complete the set. For example, how can you own just one of these Patriotic Covers?

Or these identically-composed WWII covers? (The 2nd cover's villain is propaganda minister Josef Goebbels, who was memorably shot up in "Inglourious Basterds")

Then there are these "spinning" covers. Note: Bullets might not be able to fray Superman's suit fabric, but apparently a little girl with a dolly is a knitting nightmare:

IN THE DAYS BEFORE TEXT-MESSAGING: Back in the 1940s, if you wanted to get a message across, nothing worked quite as effectively as putting your note on a knife, plunging it into some tied-up dude's chest, and shoving the guy through the recipient's door. Beats a singing telegram!

POTENTIALLY DISTURBING SCENES. These images could possibly evoke negative associations having to do with African men and white women. Then again, they pretty much depict your standard fraternity party. Bonus points: On each cover, the white man almost seems to be cheering on what's being done to the female.

JACK KAMEN -- COPYCAT FOR HIRE, PART 2: (Continued from the Blue Beetle image seen in the Fox Comics section several pages ago)

"Um, Jack? Yeah, this is Superior Comics calling. We want you to do a near-replica of this old operating-table cover that was used in Science Comics. Yep, that's right, the one with the naked babe under a sheet... What's that? Do we want her to have a similarly upturned left breast, you ask? Well of course we do! Give her the full 'Vulcan boob' treatment! Yeah, like Spock's ear, that's exactly what I mean. Great, then! You're hired!"
