FICTION HOUSE SELF-PLAGIARISM, PT. 5: ANOTHER PULP COPYCAT

doubles-rocket-bondage1.jpg

This one's both awesome, and it led to additional copycat-ism, with Captain Science (not as obvious as the Wings #94 example), and also with Fiction House's own Planet Comics, who took the idea a step farther by tying women to a whole fleet of rockets.

FICTION HOUSE SELF-PLAGIARISM, PT. 6: RUBE GOLDBERG'S BODY-SNAPPER

doubles-ropesling.jpg

The first one's designed to tear the woman apart, but the 2nd one has been refined to pop her head off. It seems Catwoman heard about this and decided to use it on Batman & Robin.

FICTION HOUSE SELF-PLAGIARISM, PT. 8: GIVE ME BACK MY ARM!

These red-headed women have the same knife-attack pose, and especially the same arm:

FICTION-HOUSE SELF-PLAGIARISM, PT. 9: SHE'S TIED UP, SHE'S IN PERIL....LOOK AT THAT BUTT!

doubles-gatorrhino.jpg

Identical stuff, save for the crocodile/rhino variation. Also repetitive:

doubles-gatorgator.jpg

Baby got back. And muscular legs.

I could go on with additional Fiction House self-plagiarism (including numerous images of the heroine being held aloft by a native, who is being shot through the neck with an arrow), but let's move on....

FOX JUNGLE BONDAGE: Similar to Fiction House, but at least they didn't release carbon copies of their own covers. Still, these are pretty close:

doubles-fox-bondage.jpg

-- Natives using pully to lower scantily-clad brunette with great hips into pit of lethal animals? Check.

-- While a strap of her bikini top comes tantalizingly loose? Check.

Also: These two always seemed like they belonged together --

FOX FEATURE SYNDICATE, PT. 2: MIRROR BABE IN PERIL

Lingerie woman in front of mirror? Check. Threatened by man in fedora? Check. However, only one cover includes a magically vanishing bra.

FOX FEATURE SYNDICATE: JACK KAMEN, COPYCAT FOR HIRE, PT 1. -- GLASS THAT LEAVES NO SHARDS

"Hello, is this cover artist Jack Kamen? Fox calling. We want you to do a Blue Beetle cover like this one, but could ya make it so the glass breaks without any shards? Yeah, and we want the glass to be non-translucent, and to break with an unrealistic teeth-like perforation. Got it? Use some straight lines to delineate the hero's movement, too! Oh yeah, and could you also do a similar effect for this new 'Saint' comic the Avon folks are comin' out with? All right, then, you've got the job!"

FOX FEATURE SYNDICATE: GIRL FIGHT!!!

These are Fox's two greatest "girlfight" covers. There were a couple other girlfight covers in the Crimes by Women series, and also a couple in the jungle realm (Zoot, etc.) But these are my favorites -- with the one on the right being especially beloved! ("No you don't, sister!")

In other bondage news, these two Daredevil covers are deliriously twisted.

And these two "True Crime" covers belong together:

Great thread! :applause:

There's a whole swarm of Fiction House comics & pulps with a lovely lady tied or chained in the lower left corner in a distinctive, much-swiped pose. Do you have those on deck?

Which brings us to -- FICTION HOUSE SELF-PLAGIARISM, PT. 10: Water wheels and beyond!

doubles-waterwheel2.jpg

The woman on the Rangers comic really has it bad -- she's gonna be hacked up and burned, or maybe burned up and hacked. But she still manages to make her predicament look sexy and elegant. Meanwhile, some clever torturers below have taken the concept to new levels by using riverboats and planes.

Oh yeah, here are some nice snake covers. These remind me of Eve in the Garden of Eden, probably after eating a whole tree full of apples:

Fiction House also had a way with perspective. These "Shadow of the Colossus"-style giants are so vertiginously drawn, I actually get a little dizzy looking at them. Especially stupefying is the giant robot -- now that's a big robot! Look at his foot!

SPEAKING OF ROBOTS -- Here are some really wussy robots who clearly deserve to have their butts kicked:

doubles-robotknockout.jpg

Why are robots constantly trying to steal our women? What are they going to do with them, anyway? And why the fetish for women in red outfits?

TRIPTYCH ROBOTS -- These giant robots are really asking to get clobbered. The middle robot is extra beat-up-worthy, as it appears he's trying to make love to an elevated train:

doubles-robotgiant.jpg

A similar train-loving robot can be seen below, but he won't be humping his train anytime soon, as he's about to get a well-deserved konk on his stainless-steel noggin. To his left, you can observe the first gay robot being attacked with "fabulous" rays. To the right is yet another robot kidnapper cruising for a crushed-aluminum-style bruising:

DC COMICS -- CAR CARRIERS: Superman is famous for carrying automobiles around, but he also has a knack for carrying armored trucks:

doubles-carlift1.jpg

Superman's legendary car-lifting made Wonder Woman jealous, so she went into "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better" mode and tried to outdo him. Superman responded by starting his own auto-lifting entertainment service:

doubles-superman-cars2.jpg

When Superman's not going all Flubber on cars, he has a side-business called "Tanks for the Memories...of Getting Your Butt Kicked":

DC COMICS -- TURRET-BENDING! .... Superman also started a trend of bending turrets and cannons. As you can see here:

doubles-turret1.jpg

This trend eventually spread to other publishers, such as Nedor, who are well-known for their high levels of originality:

doubles-turret2.jpg

It also inspired yet more jealousy from Wonder Woman, who naturally went into the whole "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better" routine again. What an ego she has!

doubles-turret3.jpg

After viewing the Wonder Woman covers, I'm pretty sure there's some sort of erectile-dysfunction subtext to all these images. Which becomes all the more disturbing when you view this Marvel Mystery cover -- what does it mean that a woman is about to be put INSIDE the giant phallic symbol, or that the Human Torch has given it a really nasty looking sore? Nearby, with a submarine periscope, Superman tries for an Eagle Scout merit badge in knot-tying.

doubles-turret4.jpg

Maybe we wouldn't have to spend so much time bending turrets if the Axis Powers didn't keep tying our women onto them:
