Native-American Indian Features

Gang,

I need your collective help. I was wondering if we could create an exhaustive list of features with a native-american indian as the leading character. It can be own book or own feature in an anthology book.

I am busy at work so off the top of my head, here are the ones I can recall.

Who am I missing? Let's keep it to GA or early SA (if necessary)

Indian Chief (Dell)

Tonto (Dell)

Little Beaver (Dell)

Indians (Fiction House)

Long Bow (Fiction House)

Straight Arrow (ME)

Red Hawk in Straight Arrow (ME)

Apache Kid (Atlas)

Arrowhead (Atlas)

Firehair (Fiction House - even though I don't think she'd qualify or is she alike Apache Kid and Straight Arrow)

Strong Bow in All-Star Western (DC)

Young Eagle (Fawcett)

Turok ?? (Dell) - I know nothing about Turok

American Eagle in Prize Western Comics (Prize)

White Indian in various titles (DC?)

Is Nighthawk in Western Comics, a native-american character?

I thought about Big Chief Wahoo. Is he the star of the strip?

As for Red Wolf, where did he appear? I thought he was a SA character, no?

Big Chief Wahoo was the star of the strip, as far as I know.

Red Wolf was a BA character. First appearing in Avengers #80, Marvel Spotlight #1 and a short run of his own title, 9 issues.

Thanks Fuelie.

Red Wolf is too late a character for what I'm looking for. I re-read his first appearance 2 years ago. It was fun.

Big Chief Wahoo should be added ... even though I was more looking for action stories rather than comedy. BCW was comedy, right?

And Standard had Injun Jones who was a member of the Apache tribe.

They also had Rhoda Trail who wasn't an Indian but I like her name.

Nighthawk wasn't an Indian. Hannibal Hawkes was his name and he wore a mask. Should of changed his name too if he wanted a secret identity.

Happy Indian in Boy's Ranch but don't know if he was around for more than one issue. Red Ryder's buddy Little Beaver was around for a long time with lots of Dell books as was Tonto.

Quick break here but, no, Tomahawk was not native-american.

Thanks for the link, BZ. I'll check it out later tonight.

Thanks all (Honky & BB) for all the good suggestions. Keep'em coming!
