Looks like Metro just listed a Tec 31 5.0 and a Tec 33 8.0 :o(worship)

Meanwhile the blue label 33, 2.5 looks to have poofed. (shrug)

Might be transferred to the next CC even auction (shrug)

Or maybe a boardie bought it

Now, that's just being smart by buying at the right time........picking up a book when it's out of favor, as opposed to chasing it when it's red hot and the current flavor of the month. (thumbs u

Congrats and well done!!! :applause:

Metro Tec 31 5.0 copy has a BIN of 110K. The 33 8.0 has a BIN of 150K.

Do you have a link for these 2 books? hm

It looks like my Search skills on the internet leaves a lot to be desired. :boo:

Lower grade 33's almost never come up, and it was especially smart grabbing it before that 6.5 on C-link offically goes on the block.

Any idea if these are consigned copies that Metro do not even have access to since your link to the Metro site only have stock images for these 2 books, as opposed to actual cover scans? I imagine a potential purchaser would like to see real scans of both the front and back covers at a minimum, before putting their dollars down. hm

And in the case of the 'Tec 31, why would the consignor not put it up for auction on the CC website instead? With the dollars that the uber low grade copies of this book are getting on the CC auctions, should a CGC 6.0 graded copy not go for more than the $110K or best offer price which Metro is asking for here? ???

Explained several times by different people. This sums it up in a nutshell:

PPP for a 1.0 (or a 1.5) is NOT the same as PPP for a mid-grade copy. There is more competition at the low end, as there are more buyers looking for any respectable complete copy - and so PPP is HIGHER for a 1.0 or a 1.5 than it would be for the same book in 2.5 or 3.5, etc.

Pricing from one grade to the next is not a straight line.

Yes, the lowest PPP would be in the mid-grades as these books are sort of caught in a no-man's land.

Too expensive for the entry level collectors without the deep pockets and yet, also not nice enough for the high end collectors with the deep pockets. (thumbs u

Actually , the "PPP" method would be most accurate (if it can actually be considered an "accurate" way to price a book at all) in the mid grades , as it is usually skewed (often much) higher in the lower and higher grades.

SA to Mondern can goe insane in 9.8, where as GA in 2.0 and under can go insane due to pent up demand in entry level.
