Yeah - his Judge Dredd definitely helped out the comic book movie genre.

Star Wars re-defined the western for movie goers and between Terminator & Star Wars, Hollywood learned that "the comic book way" was a perfect stereotype for action films which is why today more films are "comic-like" and the stories are, sadly, thinner than the visuals.

Watch Paradise Alley. It was the best screenplay of that year.
