I've always been interested by the intensified psychology of covers with close ups of faces such as the following. Anyone else share the same interest I wonder?

Yes, there is an emotional intensity to covers such as this - the soldier's stoicism internalises all the drama and makes it all the more potent! And the rough modelling looks like chiselled stone giving him a monumental quality, and a stillness....
