invincible #1 Larry's ww of comics limited edition 1 1

This debate has surfaced locally, so I did a little research on the Invincible Larry’s Variant. It seems the copyright date is 2004 on the variant, but the original has a date of 2003. Why has CGC been labeling it as a variant of the first print, when it is a reprint?

I guess because it's the first print of the convention edition? But it's definitely a reprint.

My thought exactly, but some people in my circles don’t seem to believe that. They think it’s a variant that came out at the same time.

On the previous page the Owner describes when it came out. Looks like Dec. 2003 while the 1st was Jan. 2003.

what year does it say on cgc label? same as 1st ever print?

The label says 1/2003 but the copyright in the indicia says 2004

The CGC database has been updated (since April 2021) so that the Larry's Limited Edition and all books graded are now dated December 2003.

This label can't be updated (because it's paper), but the database was updated for this serial number: https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/1472662047/
