Does CGC scan every book that comes through the doors?

I have seen where a couple of board members claim CGC keeps scans of all books graded. Is this true? If so, are the scans of the books raw, graded or both?

CGC does not scan every book that is submitted.

Which books do get scanned? Only the ones submitted for imaging? Or can they be varied, like in special instances where it is a one-of-a-kind book?

Yes to both. Most of the books that are imaged (other than through the imaging service) are selected by the grading and quality control departments for uniqueness, high value or high grade.
