After visiting my favorite store on April 3, I have now reached a new personal collecting milestone: 100 out of 124 Weird War Tales issues found in the wild!

I actually like this cover, but the hard, straight lines the colorist chose to separate the King, Clown and Ape were a poor choice IMO. If they had blended the colors in a softer transition it would’ve looked a lot better! My 2c

Yeah / this one really creeps me out! Animated scarecrows are freaky!

This one just has a wonderful sense ‘of the moment’ with the fog and the moon & with the scarecrow poised… but then he’s hesitating at the peak moment of horror. And then you look at the children and the dog, and you’re like, ‘Oh no!’

Great book! Thanks for sharing this one!

Don Rosa copy.

I really enjoy Rosa copies. I met him several times at shows before his collection came to light, as I also love his Uncle Scrooge & Donald Duck stories.

I also like Neal’s cover here. Has some good creepiness about it. Not the immediate danger of some of the other HOM/HOS covers, but that ‘let’s get out of here’ vibe.

Plus that cover story is a HOM classic! (thumbsu

There is a local original owner collection that belonged to a lady named Jean Keating. She worked for N.A.S.A. as a rocket scientist and had some fantastic books. Many were in the BA Horror genre. I listed many of them on the boards and they went for strong money. One of them was HOM 186 and I missed it almost immediately. I recently found this... and it was pricey, but I grabbed it. It's a break-out in the OPG as an issue with both a Wrightson and Adams story, I had to settle for white pages ... I couldn't find one with better. GOD BLESS...

And another HOM classic cover story, “Nightmare”! :headbang:
