I gotta say, it's not nearly as well-executed graphically as that GODZILLA issue. The SPIDEY variant seems slapped together. At least each GODZILLA issue integrates the shop it represents into the cover art itself instead of a neat little pre-determined area inside of a box...

 

It's fun, but not nearly as impressive as the GODZILLA variant.

Ah I see now that there were 2 generic covers to choose from. The LIZARD MAN one is more interesting, but still a copy/paste approach compared to the GODZILLA variants.

From what I've heard from my LCS is that they had to buy 500 copies worth. I could be wrong but that is what I was told.

They were two variants offered.

1 was the Spidey saves "your shop here" variant which I believe most retailers went for.

1 was (if I remember correctly) an original piece for your shop.

Im surprised Utah participated in this but just one store did tha Midtown Comics variant is really nice hopefully they will still have some when I go visit in 2 weeks

The cover you've posted is the VA variant; when picking up the Ohio variant, the person-in-charge stated to me that the variant for VA would come out the next day...plus, this is the actual storefront pic in Columbus, OH...

 

 

Compare the address number shown in the storefront pic with The Laughing Ogre addy on Marvel's webpage...

 

 

Can see how this could be confusing a bit; but found out that the VA stores (Lansdowne & Fairfax) don't add "The" in their store name...

Gonna post the picture from my LCS which is in TOKYO. We had to beg to get a variant but it was fun.We actually received them earlier than the other comics of the weeks.
