i have a ton of low grade readers late silver age/early bronze Superman, Action, Lois lane, Jimmy Olson, etc...

 

digging them out is the problem...If I can find the time next week to do it, I will...this week is impossible.

i thought about sending mike a CGC book, but i don't think he can really enjoy it, so i'm sending him superman sunday classics 1939-1943 hardcover instead. he can enjoy reading it.
Iagree however, I remember my first slab. I enjoyed it very much. I am going to send him a few raw Actions to go with the slab..

I'm so sorry that I cannot work too much on this right now, because we are also running around helping our recently arrived exchange student get situated and registered for school!

 

Just want to point out that all those interested in sending books should get the (not publicly available) address via PM with either myself or genrlzod. Please do not post this address anywhere because it is Mike's friend who does not wish his address to be out in the inter-webs.

 

Also amazing for me to see (although well-meaning) somebody in Facebook say that they have Mike's address to pass along. This is unbelievable since this will only attract more Garys to his house! doh!

 

I'm also not sure if all these donation funds that are being set up are legit. It seems best to just send Mike comic books or action figures. Mike's friend told me he really is saddened by the theft of his Captain Action figure with Superman costume. I'm going to re-post the original story from St. Louis Today because it does have the most detail about his collection.

 

Thank you for tracking down Mike's friend and getting an address. You got the ball rolling, which was a great thing to do. You the man!

 

Now the truly awesome people are the ones who have taken the time to go through their collections and find items to send to Mike. Real life heroes :applause:

Other: a cool DC Legends Superman Fig - his hands will have to be glued (I'll do that before shipping it out). He comes with a cool stand and is a pretty nice Fig - was simply packaged poorly when I bought him.

 

I have some duplicates of above - if he'd like them, they are his...

I know it wouldn't have been part of Mike's old collection, but I just bought him a copy of the new Jim Lee variant Action #1. I'll be getting it out in the mail tomorrow. Will also see what else I can throw in the package.

 

 

In the meantime I'm gonna send a copy of Superman Last Son TPB.
