So cool!  I love those old Harveys.

While I was willing to pick up various Harvey titles way back in the 1990's, these did not include the Blondie and Dagwood ones. Now I wish I had a bunch of these.

I can't see a thread for SA Harvey on the boards anywhere. Is there one?

In the meantime, just a few examples from me to get started, all with a UK focus (that's where I'm based).

I have no recollection of seeing Harvey comics when I was a kid growing up. Maybe they were there in the shops and I wasn't interested - maybe they weren't. Regional perhaps. But I find them quite charming now that I have had cause to look into them via my UK distribution research.

As far as I can see, Harvey comics were distributed in the UK by L Miller. Their branded price stamps can be seen on cents copies cover dated 1959 all the way through to 1970. There are no copies with printed UK prices by the way, just cents stamped copies. Here are some examples that I have picked up on my travels.

These first two are from 1959 and 1960 respectively, and feature an ""A.M. Co." stamp, believed to be that of Arnold Miller (Len Miller's son):

Little Lotta seems to be a very un-PC character doesn't she. It's difficult to imagine that kind of humour / target standing up to modern scrutiny isn't it. A product of bygone thinking.

The next two show Len's 6d cover stamp. I liked the placement on the Spooky so picked that up as an example for my research:

Who do you think would win a fight if Max and Spooky teamed up against Charlton's Li'l Genius and Timmy? It's amazing how often different publishers had their own versions of the same character type isn't it. And Li'l Genius bears an uncanny resemblance to Marvel's Dennis the Menace doesn't he. But I digress.

There are larger 9d Miller stamps that look like this...

...but I don't own a Harvey example as yet.

Towards the end of the Miller example run we have these two from 1970 with a one shilling stamp:

I'm not sure Richie Rich would work as a character nowadays either.

This final UK focussed example is of the only Harvey book that I have ever seen stamped by Thorpe & Porter, the distributor that most collectors would be familiar with:

That's from 1971 so technically a bronze I suppose.

I find a quite like these old Harveys. They have that old comic charm that I find irresistible. It has been quite an eye opener to see how scarce they are in the UK, but also how little they appear to be appreciated in the US too. The GCD has a lot of undated examples and you don't seem to see that many online.

I like any comic with a distribution stamp of any description and this one here fits the bill nicely with no less than three:

I missed out on winning a lot with some nicely exotic stamps which seem to relate to some importation activity - here's one from the lot:

I've gathered quite a few examples of those for Charlton and find them quite interesting.

Anyway, a thread to post Harvey examples. A bit top heavy with the UK angle to start, but hopefully some of you will now fill it up with some examples of the copies that never travelled.

The only Harvey books I collect are Sad Sack Titles (and Harvey Hits featuring Sad Sack), most are Gold, here are a few Silver Age Books.

What's the US view on Harvey comics Marvelmaniac - are they loved or ignored?

I have collected these for years. Bought some as a kid, especially Hot Stuff and Baby Huey.

Nice - those file copies look cool Rick. There's one on eBay UK now - a Playful Little Audrey file copy. Some of the covers are quite enchanting aren't they - not my copy, but I love this one that I'm currently watching online and may pop a bid on:

Clever in a silly way.
