People will be re-selling the sauces.

Limited locations will have them, for one day only, in limited quantities. I believe they are released today or tomorrow.
Check ebay today and tomorrow and see if some sauces have been listed.

Hard to find food items have sold well online for as long as I can remember. Regional flavors of popular soda, discontinued snacks, cereals, etc.

The only thing that still seems odd to me is that these books bring more than say "The Simpsons" comics. That show had/has an incredibly huge following that would seemingly dwarf "Rick and Morty". After seeing the show, it strikes me as well above average but like others have stated, not as funny as "Family Guy" imo. I'm well aware that opinions are like...let's move ahead, shall we ? lol

There has been the argument that "R and M" is getting  the dollars that "The Simpsons" doesn't because its currently the more popular show. That makes some sense. On the other hand, if people are paying big more for the current hot property, what happens when the show with less viewers becomes the old show ? If "The Simpsons" or "Futurama" can't keep up, why would this property ?

The book definitely deserves to be discussed here as it is a hot commodity. That said, it seems more likely to be a short rather than long term book based on it's predecessors. Then again, these are comics and you never know what tomorrow holds. I still can't understand reprints are bringing more than a book than an actual first appearance.. but I'm betting that will eventually change again too. lol

Also being grossly and obviously shilled.

Here are just a few of the low lights:

And it's also already on its way to being a sub $40 item as the market has been absolutely flooded with these "rare" sauce packets:

Still a lot but I suspect they will be sitting at $20 or lessby the end of the week.  Any real sellers trying to cash in on this doing one week auctions is :screwy: .  But not as crazy as someone who might have believed the phony hype and actually paid  $100 for one of these on the same day they came out.

If you click on any one of those $40-$45 auctions for the sauce, the seller states that the winner/bidder is paying for information on how to obtain the sauce.  Heard majority of, if not all, McDonald's only received 20-30 of the packets per store, which is why the prices are high.  I mean look at the posters - they're going for over $200.  Sad thing is McDonald's made some bootleg wannabe Rick & Morty promotion and R&M fans are paying so much for it.

Most are BINs though. Which makes sense because people want these to sell fast.

Im sure some are fake bids, but for hyped items, Im sure it sometimes brings out ebayers who don't use eBay very much as well. So, someone with some feedback, but one bid on one item this month would not necessarily have to always be a fake bidder.

Look, its craziness. I don't get it. It doesn't make sense to me to spend money on that, but it shows the current craze for this series and further proves just how much fans are looking for collectibles for it. SO, no one should be surprised now about the pricing of comics if people are willing to pay for Szechuan sauce. And please, that doesn't mean Im saying there are no fake bids on some items, so lets not circle back and say I'm denying that.

I remember when X-files 1 was a $100 book back in the early 90s. This book is just a flash in the pan. Don't waste your $$$ on it

I was working at a comic shop when that was going on, and vividly remember that being a "wall book" and constant seller in the $60 range. So, in recent years, I'd pick them up whenever I found them in $1 bins, because I thought "Hey, this used to be a super hot book, has to be worth something?" Eventually I ran across so many of them, I just stopped buying them altogether, even at $1 or less. I had more than I could give away, much less sell. It's odd how markets can COMPLETELY collapse over time

It's crazy but the sauce is almost impossible to find below $150 a packet. Although once they start rolling out the next batch, I'm sure the madness will settle down.

Have you seen the dozens of videos, news stories online with riots and hundreds upon hundreds of people waiting in line for the sauce. People were camping at 4:30 in the morning  to get the stuff.
