I think it's more supply and demand. A few years back there were only a few of these books in 9.8. Supply was low and demand was high, likely due to FOMO. Now that supply is higher and the perception that more may come to market and/or be graded in 9.8, demand is also down. Plus, the people that would pay the $1k+ for this book likely already have.
