SPARKLE CITY COMICS Announces December 1st Original Owner Golden Age Auction

SPARKLE CITY COMICS will hold our 2nd Golden Age Auction spectacular on EBAY from December 1st to December 11th. This auction will feature 3 original owner golden age collections and focus mainly on the time period 1937 to 1942 with a few 1943-1944 comics. Only a handful of comics are not original owner (less than 10%).

 

There will be well over 100 comics in the auction and it will feature:

 

* Many highest graded copies including Marvel Mystery Comics #nn, New Adventure Comics #26, Detective Comics #47, Wonder Comics #2, Adventure Comics #5 and many other rare early issues.

 

* Many Original Owner Action Comics war covers

 

* Some Key Timely Issues

We still have dozens of comics at CGC getting graded so the preview will continue to grow until the end of November.

First time I heard about this book was in the CBM article where Mark Wilson sold one to the guy writing the article (which also mentioned the Annual possibly only being a Canadian release). Nice haul of books.

About 75% of the comics in the December 1st auction came from an original owner collection out of Quebec. There are a handful of Canadian Edition comics including the Marvel Mystery Annual. There are some really scarce comics in this collection.

 

There are also comics from 2 estates in the New York City area which feature some nice original owner Superman and Action Issues. Several of the Action war covers are especially cool. In general the page quality is off-white or better on many of them.

 

By the weekend, we should have a more extensive preview on our website with scans of dozens of comics from the auction.

Hopefully a high grade Cap #74 is in the mix [maybe the now famous CGC 8.0 copy?] as I will be all over it.
