The westerns are awesome: do they reprint older stories, or do they have new material in them?

 

I like the Romita inked covers, but for some reason I find Kane "weaker" when inked by Romita. Romita has a strong personality, and so it somehow influences too much Kane’s pencils.

They're almost all reprints, I believe. I've only noticed one exception.

 

Kid Colt Outlaw #201 has a new story. But it wasn't drawn by Kane. Had I bought that book off the stands, I know I would have been disappointed when I got back home from the 7-11.

The Mighty Marvel Westerns came from a weekly Heritage Auction. They were raw and I just got them back today from CGC.

 

The War Is Hell was a raw eBay purchase that restored my faith in humanity.

I've yet to get a copy of this one, but if it's by Leiber, I bet it was done for the Giant Size Kid Colt series that featured a team-up each issue before it was canceled/went to all reprint.

Kane did not draw this, but until I researched it I thought he at least had a hand in it because of the guy falling back. The face looked very Kane-ish to me. Still does :shrug:

Great books, Monstro. I think Kane did better picture frame covers than anybody. It was like 3D without needing the glasses.
