As far as book 1 & 11 are concerned, it was 3 years ago. I am certain the boardie would have taken them back if I didn't agree with the grade or caught the missing last page so it is partially my own faults.

 

The result for the 2 GA superman books shocked me...say what? other than that not much of a shocker. In the past, I nailed about 85% of the grades on my submissions but this submission was going to be hard. I picked many books that have issues that I haven't sub before so the result was mostly good surprises. I overgraded 2 of the 31 books....but here are what I thought they would be.

No doubt, having the books in hand is a big advantage...and even then I undergraded on over half of the book.

 

As the result showed, in general we under grade more so than over grade.

Who won the ROBOJO book contest?

no one nailed the Robo book contest.

 

To win that, you have to pick the right book, guess the right grade Robo advertised and guess the grade CGC gave.

 

a few people picked the right book but all missed one or 2 of the criteria.

I guessed the right book and the right grade Robo graded it, but was off by 1/2 a grade on the CGC grade.

I learned, at least with my CGC expectations, that I have a pretty significant conservative undergrade bias. I was also downright shocked on the Golden Age books, and need to factor in a bigger golden age bump.

 

Probably not too bad to have an undergrade bias, as it should help me avoid overpaying when I buy, and keep all of my Ebay customers satisfied when I sell. I look forward to future contest to see if I can improve my skills. (thumbs u
