I liked Smallville, so what do I know,lol?...I thought this was OK.

I'm not quite sure why his father had to shoot himself so Olly could survive:shrug:

I missed the first 3 minutes...and I see the Black Canary is going to show up next week...will definitely watch to see if it's more engaging....I may have to find some shirtless Green Arrow pictures to post when all those girls in bathing suits are posted on the forum.

First 3 mins were prob the best...I really hope they go back to the whole island survival theme.

in regards to your spoiler

They didn't have enough supplies (water/snackems) on the boat so he had to ensure Ollie could survive longer

Can you post some pics of Canary too :)

Last night was the first time I have ever heard of Supernatural and I didn't watch it.

Where have you been the last 7 years? You should start from season one. Great stuff.

They look like teenagers in the first season.

Jared Padalecki was still growing. I think he gained a couple inches in height.

Any reason they called it just "Arrow" and not "Green Arrow"? It is obvious that it is. Do they cut DC out of royalties this way?

No, in fact DC Entertainment is one of the production companies.

But I wouldn't have changed the title from "Green Arrow" if I had my druthers.

Because "Green Arrow" sounds stupid whereas "Arrow" sounds less like a show strictly for comic book nerds.

If they called it Green Arrow people might have expected the same guy from smallville

What comic(s) other than Green Arrow's first appearance are going to see increased interest, heat, value, etc. as a result of this TV series? Are we going to see the introduction of any supporting characters or villains from the comic? Wonder what the possibility of a Green Lantern / Green Arrow story arc is? I personally enjoyed the first episode a lot. I was pleasantly surprised that the story was told from an edgier POV than I anticipated. For those of you who haven't seen it, it's not aimed at an audience of children. It was also apparently the most viewed TV show in the history of the CW network which is a pretty big deal.

Where have you been the last 7 years? You should start from season one. Great stuff.

I first saw part of an episode about 5 years ago. Thought it was interesting but never watched. Then a year or so ago I watched a rerun of the season premiere of season 4. I thought it was good but didn't follow up. I then saw it appear in Netflix instant and dragged my actually starting it but once I did I blew through it in 2 or 3 months.

If you like the X-Files you will probably like this. It has monster of the week episodes and instead of a running alien mythos storyline there is running demon storyline that pretty much evolves into a season or two storyline.

The show is pretty funny a lot of the time. There is awesome pop culture references to movies and music and if a storyline is "ripping off" a previous notable work they often joke about the source material. I thought seasons 1-6 were the best. I found season 7 to be a let down. The Leviathans were kind of lame and so were their plans. Plus they hardly used Castiel who had become a break out character...what the hell are they thinking. Plus i felt thy offed one too many support characters which could have made season 7 a bit stronger.

They also sink up some good classic rock songs to scenes in the show pretty well most of the time. Styx Renegade, Dylan's Knockin on Heavens Door, and Jefferson Starships Miracles were some of the best. The last had an in episode joke for even using Jefferson Starship and the song fit well with the big reveal at the end of the episode.

Definitely some funny stuff like the Deliverance references in The Benders episode. Castiel's dead pan cell phone problems, to Deans comment about cherubs, and the episode where he watches porn were great.

Oh yeah and the last episode had Thor's Hammer. I kind of wonder if Sam kept it or it will simply disappear and be forgotten. It would be a good time for Thor to finally make an appearance on the show since Odin and "Loki" already appeared.

I am so spoiled by shows from AMC, Showtime and HBO. The first episode was meh. Hot chicks though.

Have to agree with you. Acting was wooden and characters were stereotypes. At some points when Ollie turns up in costume, I felt they were trying to channel Batman a little lol ... Just my 2c
