American Cancer Society's Relay For Life - June 8th, 2012

After talking to several collectors on here about the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, it seems to be the general consensus that I should post a request for any donations in the Comics General section of the forums.

Last year, my grandfather, Colonel Theodore Dale passed away at the age of 93 after succumbing to a 30+ year battle with prostate cancer. He had a 30+ year career in the military and was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam and had over 4500 flying hours in 33 unique airplanes. My grandfather was and still is a huge inspiration to me of what it means to be a fighter and to live your life to its fullest. He never let cancer rule his life and even into his 90s he was still traveling the world. He truly is an inspiration to everyone he met of what it is to be a strong willed and good person with a huge heart.

In his memory, I am walking in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life on June 8th, 2012 and am asking for any donations that anyone can give. I realize these days are hard times for a lot of people but even $5 can go a long way to help. Below is a link to my donation page on the American Cancer Society's website. Even if you cannot donate, thank you for taking the time to read this.

Thanks for the bump, I missed this thread the first time.

Your Grandfather sounds like someone I could have spent hours talking to about his life experiences, what a life he lead. My Grandfather died and 78 and I would have loved to have an extra decade with him, you are lucky he lived to a ripe old age!

Folks, RFL is a wonderful organization. I don't think there is a person on this board who doesn't know someone affected by cancer. Take the time to donate a few bucks and hopefully one day we can find a cure for this terrible disease. Heck, maybe someone more organized than myself could come up with a weekend board fundraiser so that we could raise some cash. I would certainly contribute books to the cause.

Thank you do much for the donation Chris! I actually have a sales thread I just listed in the Copper/Modern section of the selling. It doesn't have much in it as I'm also unemployed right now so I'm selling some on eBay trying to pay the bills but hopefully it will help raise a little bit more.

Thanks again!

Last update, the Relay For Life is tomorrow everyone, I've raised $2285 and would love anyone's help to help me hit my goal of $2500 raised. Even if you can only give $5 every little bit helps.
