The circumflex over the e in "morcêgo" is also an indicator of the comic's age. Orthographic reforms to Portuguese have removed a lot of the diacritical marks over the years. Also, Batman is just called "Batman" nowadays in Brazil, so I guess that whole "Morcêgo Negro" thing didn't last. I love Batman's red boots!

That's true overall, although to be fair, this edition was published close to the orthographic reform from 1943, so the circumflex would remain on all books until earlier 70's.

I don't have photos of any books from my collection, however, I purchased a batch of 20-30 books of this series that came with three duplicates, that are in  quite similar condition to the ones that I will keep, so:2104493820_Zecarioca1165capa.thumb.jpg.d7e94652602b7494311b1d5dc62c858a.jpg2018851567_Zecarioca1275capa.thumb.jpg.e23c68f1d6b7651e1371efb9f24f79ab.jpg1262245566_zecarioca1291capa.thumb.jpg.1bef19730e280e5664500e2c56d1a811.jpg

These are the 70's. After a couple of decades warming up, Disney finally reached its peak popularity worldwide, possible surpassing super-hero stuff in printing numbers. This one here, averaged 230.000 by edition in the first quarter of 1975 (or approximately 460.000 by month) and about 185.000 between the first quarter of 76 and the first one of 1977 (or again the double of that by month).

That's a great gibi mensal backcover. Not sure  if it's original or not.

As a side note, I just saw it on Foreign Comic Collector Magazine:

Picked this 1942 O Globo up.

It's got the GA "Marvel Mystery" Angel on the cover.  But who is that woman behind him you might ask?  It sure looks like Miss Fury or maybe CatWoman.  It turns out to be the villainess, "Cat's Paw" (her costume looks exactly like some of the more modern versions of CatWoman)

On the back cover..... The Wizard.  I love these comics.

I have been going through some of my boxes so I can better sort my collection.  I came across this one, which I do not remember getting.  It must have been in a lot of foreign books I bought. (shrug)20210223_210634.thumb.jpg.a7e852fa29fc0256d870a250277bab05.jpg20210223_210651.thumb.jpg.74dbfbca6ea7244d5d265cb799051c61.jpg
