This theme has been used in other comics as was noted. Archie & the gang have for years had fantasy type storylines where they lived in prehistoric times all the way through the future. I think Archie Comics is doing the right thing by keeping the new books fresh, interesting, and generating a buzz with both comics readers and the general public.

 

Archina is really cute, too.
