I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around the idea of cover expansion or interior shrinkage.

 

Additionally, why is it that SA marvels seem to be the most common examples of this phenomenom?

 

Why doesn't it affect other eras and other publishers to the same degree?

 

Was marvel using a different kind of paper than all the other SA publishers? I would find that hard to believe.

I don't know why it would be hard to believe.

 

All pulp products contain moisture amd change shape depending on humidity.

 

Marvel and DC, even though they were often printed on the same machines, obviously used different paper and inks. All you have to do is put the two side by side to see.

 

It's a pretty well agreed upon theory for those that have taken the time to read up on the subject.

Sorry, my interest in comics doesn't extend to in depth study of paper and ink types by company and era. lol

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
