How does a company sell a Mouseguard HC, is it really a hardcover book? That's pretty classy/expensive for a FCBD issue.

Its a hardcover book like a childrens story book. The quality is really nice.

It is awesome. Just finished reading it tonight and the art was pretty good.

It's different at every store. The most awesome FCbD event I went to was huge. The entire parking lot was packed with Indy artists doing sketches and selling their self published co mica. Free hot dogs, cosplayers, photos with Wolverine. Inside the store you could choose a set number of comics. It was a big number like 10, 12, 15 or something. Then they kinda shuffle you out the door since it was so packed. Not much chance to shop that day but it was super fun. The worst one I went to was a store that convinced me NOT to make the drive out to that awesome store and instead attend theirs, where I got one comic and couldn't even choose it. Most stores will give away between one and five or so I guess. I heard of a few that lets everyone have a full set. I've heard of stores that don't give any away, they make you pay or they give you one free with a purchase. It all just depends.

Another fun store I went to didn't have any actual FCBD comics, but had a table loaded with 80's/90's stuff for free. I got some cool stuff that day

I would have thought selling them or making you purchase something would be illegal (shrug) Not being able to choose and getting only one would kinda suck also but getting a set would be awesome... Sadly I've never been inside a comic shop ever and I'd need to jump on a plane to experience FCBD. Kinda makes a "free" comic book a bit expensive lol

My daughter likes the Valiant one.

Is she wondering which page to wipe with?:baiting:

This book is flagged sir!

lol

No seriously, even though this looks like she is sitting on a potty -

for those that don't know this is a bumbo seat (a seat used for toddlers

to gain balance and muscular control for the act of sitting)

I'm new to comic book collecting, and this is only my first FCBD. In looking at this year's releases, and I noticed that there is not a FCBD offering from Zenescope. Do they not participate in this event?

It's hard to market softcore porn to rated G audiences. :gossip:

How does it work at FCBD? Do they have all the books available and you just grab what you want? We don't have any comic book stores in the state I live in so I've never been to one :(

There are 2 stores near me and they both let you take any 3 comics for free, the only difference between the two is the one shop will sell you any free comics later in the week. The other store will give additional free books if you bring in canned goods. Every canned item you donate will get you one additional free comic. The food will then be donated to the local food bank.

Picked up most of mine yesterday, but haven't had much of a chance to really go through them yet. The Mouseguard does look nice though. My LCS still had most except he was already out of the Voltron.

My LCS owner lets his regulars pick the books out ahead of time. He wants to make sure we get the ones we want before the "one and dones" come and take them.

JURASSIC STRIKEFORCE 5

Publisher: ZENESCOPE ENTERTAINMENT INC

(W) Joe Brusha (A) J.L. Giles-Rivera (CA) Mike Capprotti

meh. You know none of the classic Zenescope "good stuff" will be in there. Oh well, I'll check it out anyway...

I figured this day wasn't really for me, but rather, my kid, so we picked up 10 comics appropriate for an almost 7 year old. The shop probably didn't have the greatest selection or they were out of some stuff as it only looked like they had 15-17 titles in total. He was limiting it to 5 per person as well (but not exactly checking if you were actually buying something).

Cute thing is theres a Donald Duck Barks reprint issue and my son was enjoying the heck out of it. Some stuff is still fun for kids 60+ years later.
