A friend of mine got their autographs at a con last year and said they were only doing signatures then too - no quotes.  Although I think they were a little more lenient on the ink color.

CGC Witness cracks open book, witnesses signature, then the book is sent to CGC in a bag and board for regrading and you get the yellow label. Facilitators will do this for you too for an extra fee but it is worth it if you can't attend a convention. There is no guarantee that the original grade will stay, it is part of the fun though.

Oh it is a nightmare. But, most of my non sketch covers usually drop so I try to stay positive and look at it as a game. Only had 4 out of 5 drop....one dropped AFTER it got pressed too....
