The Top 100 Books of the Silver Age !!! This is gonna be fun!

152 posts in this topic

Okay ladies and germs....let's kick this "top books concept" up a notch!! Can we produce and agree on what the top 100 books of the silver age are to own?!?

Lemme set the :rulez: why?! because it's my thread!! :makepoint::acclaim:

Rules -

1) Marvel and DC are allowed (too bad if you don't like both!)

2) we'll use perceived value as the yardstick....so, based on your experience and perspective, what are the top books (of course dollar value typically plays a role)

3) I assume 99% of us will agree on the top 10-15, 75% will agree on top 25......but how many will agree on top 50, 75, 100? :insane: so to control the data a bit, the rule is just post your opinion in the following format (just copy, paste and fill in this following template.....I'll try to tally the responses in a coherent way)

These books belong in the top 100

- X

- Y

- Z

- A

These books don't belong in the top 100

- X

- Y

- Z

- A

I'll start with the list and (gimme a couple minutes) hm hm and let the games begin!!!

Way too much work involved...Your list looks fine by me except for that DC drek

(tsk) now now

i agree though its alot of work to participate but you seem to have the biggies in there, maybe a top 10 would be easier to do?

The last time we did one of these lists I needed 2 issues on it, this one I need 5.

For that reason these would be top for me.

5) Showcase 4

19) Adventure 247

34) Adventure 210

43) Showcase 13

51) Showcase 6

I should have bought those Showcase Flash books years ago when I had the chance.

Adventure 247 is my grail target for 2012.

I have been the underbidder on the Krypto Adventure a few times lately also.

I cant really argue with the list as it stands except

X-men #94 out and Secret Origins Annual #1 in.

Mystery in Space should be represented with #53 and I would have it in the top 50 Adam Strange is one of my all time favorite characters..

Great list. :cloud9:

No love for MGA 80? :screwy:

I wouldn't even have Challs 1 on there. Tough book, but the Showcase ish is probably enough

If Adventure 210 is fair game, then add Jimmy Olsen #1, and Detective #225. (Lois Lane #1, too!)

Don't forget the annuals! Strange Tales annual #2 is the 4th app. of Spider-Man, and certainly cooler than Supes #200. ASM annual #1, Fantastic Four annual #1, Superman annual #1...

Challengers #1 a higher ranking book than Showcase #6? I'll give you the BOTD and assume oversight on that one.
