AF15 - guess grade before CGC

Got a nice copy of Amazing Fantasy 15 arrive today. I immediately took it to my LCS for CGC submission.

Cover is attached firmly to staples, 1 cm spine split at top. Really, really hoping no restoration is found (especially trimming), but the buyer assured there was none done...although you never know, they may have bought a restored copy unwittingly.

Ive prepared myself mentally for a purple label...but Im going to be optimistic for blue.

Nice looking book! I could see 3.5-4.0, depending on how hard they hammer the upper left corner and spine split.

2.5 or a 3. The top edge and corner don't help. It also seems like they've been harsh on this book.

 

Still a great copy and it wouldn't surprise me if it did a little better.

maybe theyll be so focused on the U9 in the "G" that they wont notice the corner.

I really would like to know why someone wrote that there.

I agree, that top corner looks a little to sharp compared to the rest of the book. Regardless, there's just a little too much creasing and damage on that top spine corner and edge for me to go any higher than 3.5

3.5 for me. That top right corner does look suspicious and I get a bad feeling about the right edge. Hope she comes back unrestored.

I agree about the right edge. The chipping just isnt consistant, and the straight sections look a bit too sharp. Hope We're wrong though.
