PSA: I was under the impression that when books were with CCS, they would appear on your submissions page as CCS-Rec'd or CCS-Verified or something along those lines.  Well, I've had a few books that I submitted for CCS which appear as "Received" so I thought they had already moved through the pressing phase.  (They admittedly moved through quickly so I figured CCS just determined that a press was unnecessary).  Anyways, I called customer service today and was informed that the books are still with CCS despite appearing as "Received".

tl;dr - i'm not sure what CCS/CGC's notations mean anymore, but if you subbed a book for press and are wondering why its appearing as "Received" for so long, it's possible it is still with CCS.

There was some sort of snafu with their submissions tracking and all CCS-Rec'd were converted to just Received even though they were still with CCS. Good news, however, once they actually get to CGC you should get an email from CGC and they will update the invoice date to the date of that email, and you can then rest easy that Received will now mean received by CGC.

75 prescreen Modern

received 9/25

SFG 11/2

two batches graded 11/5

All 3 batches graded and 1 batch moved to QA/QC 11/6

1 Batch shipped 11/7

They still seem to love 9.6s (8 9.8s, 14 9.6s and 3 rejects) but that batch had quite a few 9.6/9.4 books so I'm happy with a 9.6 on those.

Been this way for a while now.

Half of the 9.8s existing today would likely be 9.6s if they were resubbed.

No.  Slow boat with prescreening.  My 2 other batches are still at Graded so maybe that one batch got lucky.

Last year I thought it was worse but this batch was not a good indication for me.  The batch that got graded had a lot of key books that I was not worried about getting a 9.8 on and I'm thrilled with the grades with the set.  The other two batches of 25 are all 9.8/9.6 coin flips type books and it will be interesting to see what they give.  This time last year was pretty brutal and i heard spring was even worse.  The people I talked to at the Akron Con last weekend were saying CGC is being less tight for them but I'll see when the next two go thru.

Modern SS (Signed at midtown so had to be submitted on their account)

Submitted on 10/5/18 @ NYCC

Sitting at Received 10/24/18

Has yet to progress past received. $188 for 2 signatures plus grading from Midtown, last time I'll be doing that. Wish they let us take reps and just submit on our own accounts, already got my other books back from NYCC. 25 business days since submission, 12 business days since received. 13 days to get to from submitted to received. Called CGC to get an update since I don't have access to the invoice online since it was submitted through Midtown. They said 3 more weeks before it gets to verified. Have a feeling I'm not seeing any of these books until next year.

About 40 business days.  Looks like they have the time expected down to 33 days so I'm hoping the next batch of 100 is done by Christmas.

The copper / bronze set had 8 9.8s, 14 9.6s and 3 rejects.

The late copper batches had 22 9.8s (thumbsu, 15 9.6s :eyeroll: and 12 rejects   The number of 9.8s are a bit up but not a huge swing from last year.

It must be nice to work at a place that gives you that day off.  :)
